Brymo’s Shocking Reason for Rejecting Simi Collaboration Revealed

Brymo and Simi

Once again Brymo finds himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. The controversial singer caused a stir on social media when he revealed the reason behind his decision to decline a collaboration request from Simi.

The story unfolded when a fan on Twitter replied to Adekunle Gold’s tweet, suggesting that Brymo should have been a featured act on AG Baby’s forthcoming “Tequila Ever After” album. Little did we know that this seemingly innocent tweet would lead to a rather shocking revelation.

In an unexpected move, Brymo replied to this fan in a series of tweets and voice notes revealing that he once turned down singer Simi’s request for a collaboration because she refused to get intimate with him.

Brymo went on to explain that his intention behind the request was solely rooted in curiosity. Claiming he had always been intrigued to understand how an intimate connection with a female artiste might influence the creative process before diving into a collaboration. Brymo also confessed that he made a similar request when Ghanaian musician Efya approached him for a collaboration as well.

Expressing remorse for his rather absurd requirement for collaborating female acts, he added that he was not aware Simi was in a relationship with Adekunle Gold at that time.

AG Baby To The Rescue

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’re probably well aware that Adekunle Gold and Simi are Afrobeats’ darling couple. They’ve been happily married for over four years now, but even before tying the knot, their relationship was widely known and admired by the public for years.

In a firm defense of his wife’s honor, Adekunle Gold replied to Brymo, urging him not to disrespect his wife and family. In no uncertain terms, he advised Brymo to seek some needed help as soon as possible. Clearly, Adekunle Gold was not willing to tolerate any form of disrespect towards his loved ones, and his response conveyed a resolute message to uphold their dignity.

Brymo’s Scandalous History

Brymo, no stranger to controversies, found himself embroiled in another scandal in October 2019. Taking to Twitter, he unleashed a lengthy thread making startling claims that renowned musician 2Baba had falsely accused him of having an affair with his wife, Annie Macaulay, and had even gone as far as sending four individuals to physically assault him.

In response to these serious allegations, 2Baba issued a strong warning, stating his intention to pursue legal action against Brymo for defamation of character and for the damaging remarks made on the platform. The situation escalated rapidly, leaving many in the industry and the public perplexed and eager to see how the matter would unfold.

Brymo’s latest controversy has however sparked a lot of conversations about what female artistes have to go through in the music industry. Could Brymo’s self-admitted approach to working with female musicians be more widespread in the music industry than we think?
