Nigerian icon Davido’s global hit, ‘Fall’ which is off his second studio album, ‘A Good Time’ has re-entered the Billboard Afrobeats Songs Chart at number 50.
The song’s re-entry could be credited to Davido’s performance as a guest artiste at Travis Scott’s show at the O2 Arena. Before its re-entry, ‘Fall’, which was released on June 2, 2017, reached a peaked at number 18 and spent a total of 18 weeks on the charts. In February 2019, ‘Fall’ became the longest charting Nigerian pop song in Billboard history.
As of August 2021, the song which was produced by Nigerian record producer, Kiddominant has received over 60 million streams on Spotify and has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and Music Canada.
The song’s outstanding success is evidence of the growth of Nigerian and African music and its influence on the global music scene.
