Ugoccie Tackles Social Issues with the New Single ‘Hookup’

Ugoccie

Nigerian indigenous musician Ugoccie releases a brand new single “Hookup,” a follow-up to her Phyno-assisted hit single “Breakfast“.

Produced by Endeetone, “Hookup” is a song that comes from a real place for her. She sheds light on how social issues like poverty make many Nigerian women susceptible to hook-up culture, and how it is consequently imperiling their lives. A truly genuine and spirited song, Ugoccie reveals another side of her that fans will eagerly connect with.

Ugoccie

Keeping up the momentum of last year’s hit singles “Do You Really Like Me” and “Obi Cubana,” two singles that took the Nigerian TikTok community by surprise, Ugoccie has been able to harness the virality of her fame on TikTok into an illustrious career, and ultimately, an unprecedented Headies 2022
nomination for the Rookie of the Year Award that has further put her in the spotlight.

Ugoccie is here to put African sound on the map as one of the trailblazers. Sonically, “Hookup” is a
standout single, a thoroughly enjoyable and replayable piece.
