Bjorn Rydhog Shows Vulnerability on New Song ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Alone’

Bjorn Rydhog

If you’ve never listened to a Bjorn Rydhog song, you may want to start paying attention. The Swedish musician responsible for bops such as ‘Give me sunshine’ and ‘Escape‘ returns with new song ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Alone‘.

On the Johan Sigerud (JRSS) produced ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Alone’, Bjorn Rydhog speaks about escaping isolation and wanting to be in the presence of a loved one. With the gradual lift of the lockdown, people are eager to want to connect with the people they love and this song perfectly sets the tone for this transition into normalcy. Olof Gråhamn is the co-writer of this new pop single.

Bjorn Rydhog continues to make an impact with his unique sound as he takes his melodic indie-pop into an electronic and beat-based realm. Melancholic progressions are blended with a modern retro sound inspired by M83 and The Weeknd. This new song is an obvious follow-up on ‘Just to Be with You‘, their previous collaboration, which was released in 2020 and received massive airplay on Swedish radio.

This is what Bjorn Rydhog had to say about the song:

The single ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Alone’ shows an electronic direction I’m currently exploring. The tracks of the song were recorded separately at our different homes. I guess the creation process, as well as the theme of the song, reflect the distant and lonely, but also creative times we currently live in.
